Our Story

Since 1972

The name Renny has been synonymous with the most exquisite floral creations and over-the-top events. Renny & Reed was founded by Renny Reynolds, the most sought after designer for creating iconic events in NYC’s more infamous party decade.

A fixture at the legendary Studio 54, Renny’s client list included numerous celebrities and social figures, most notable Giorgio Armani, Yves St. Laurent, Bianca Jagger, Diana Ross and Mrs. Vincent Astor.

In 2000, Renny’s nephew, Reed McIlvaine joined his uncle and godfather, as a partner in the trend-setting event business, bringing with him a fresh perspective and refined aesthetic .

Reed joined his uncle, Renny Reynolds, as a partner in Renny’s pioneering flower and event design business in late 2000, almost 30 years after the 1972 birth of the company. In 2004, Reed took over the firm while Renny returned to his roots in landscape and interior design. The business expanded retail and event design operations to include both NYC and South Florida, and developed valued partnerships with NYC’s preeminent luxury hotels, including the Four Seasons, the St. Regis and the Peninsula.

Now, with nearly twenty years of design experience, Reed has become one of the most sought after event designers in the country. Always a calming figure, Reed navigates clients through the process in a seamless and enjoyable manner, creating events that appear effortless, remain memorable and are truly one of a kind.

While major events remain a cornerstone of Reed’s business, his Palm Beach and NYC flower shop continue to set the standard with innovative, modern bouquets and arrangements for a most discerning clientele.

Reed resides in Palm Beach, FL with his wife Kelly, and their two sons.

Sarah Hobden

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Sarah is a Creative Director and Head Designer of Renny & Reed. With more than 25 years of experience in the floral industry, Sarah brings her in-depth knowledge of seasonal plants and blooms as well as an amazing eye for color and design to our clients.

After beginning her career in her native Berkshire County, Massachusetts, Sarah moved to New York City in 1994, where she honed her design skills through diverse opportunities ranging from creating displays for Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, to appearing on the Oprah Show and ultimately joining the team at Renny & Reed.

With the nickname “Solutions Sarah” no décor concept is out of reach for our clients, you’ll want her on your team just as much as we enjoy having her on ours.

Jaime Boehner

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Jaime got her start in design by graduating with a BA in Interior Design from Ringling College of Art and Design. From there, she became the General Manager of a restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, where she seized the opportunity to expand the restaurant’s catering business as Director of Catering and Events. Jaime loved the combination of decor, ambience, lighting, food, and staffing that made for an incredible guest experience. This passion, along with a newly sparked interest in floral design, led her to join as a Producer at Renny & Reed in 2015, diving into the luxury event design industry by producing dozens of events throughout New York City and Palm Beach.

Jaime relocated to San Francisco in 2017, where she shifted her focus to floral design, spending time flowering all over California—from the Bay Area and Silicon Valley to Napa, Sonoma, Lake Tahoe, and all the way down the coast to Joshua Tree.

In 2019, Jaime happily rejoined the Renny & Reed team in Palm Beach as Event Director, taking her expertise around event design and florals to new levels. As a sought-after international designer, Jaime has designed events in the US and abroad, having been published in Brides, Martha Stewart Weddings, and Architectural Digest taking the team at Renny & Reed to new design heights with her unique and visionary creative style.

In 2023, she joined Sarah Hobden as a Creative Director at Renny & Reed.
